Here is my Web site on How to Dress For the Seasons

Finding Eco-Fashions.

My first discovery of environmental-friendly fashions was during the summer.  I discovered a new line in Urban Outfitters, called Urban Renewal, where they reused fabrics to make new garments.  I was curious to see what Gainesville had to offer in terms of environmental-friendly fashion.

My search on the Internet was overwhelming because there were so many results.  There are many Web sites available to order eco-friendly fashion.  I tried to narrow my search to stores in Gainesville, and found some interesting results.

There was an article in the Gainesville Magazine, in April/May 2009, which provided several examples of eco-fashions.  I wanted to find more in the area of Gainesville.  The article mentioned American Apparel offering organic cotton t-shirts.  I decided that would be a good place to start, to see if there has been any new developments.

As an avid shopper in Forever 21, I also remembered how they are selling the reusable bags with environmental messages on them.  There are probably more strategies that they are taking to help the environment.  So I thought it would be another good place to investigate.

The article also mentioned consignment stores and how they are recycling used clothes too. So I immediately thought of Plato’s Closet as another good source. It seems the trend of eco-friendly fashion seems to be catching on in Gainesville, and I will have to investigate further.  I hope to find more local stores that are trying to help the environment.
